The clarity and warm presence of the Chass building is a fitting context for the creative and intelectual pursuits of the student body at the University of California Riverside.

The building’s rational plan is balanced by a rich materiality, the built masses emphasizing the open space and framing views of the Box Springs Mountains.

The addition relates to the existing arts building and in doing so creates an appropriately scaled outdoor campus space.

The garden space enjoys the border defined by the refined features of the Chass elevation.
